SMS
Short Message Service; with a limit of 160 characters it is an abbreviated version of email for mobile phones. It was conceived as an alert tool for voice messages, not the phenomenally successful P2P data tool that it has become. As a ubiquitous communication tool of 'younger generation' it only makes sense to incorporate this preferred communication method into (especially as part of pull) marketing.
