SMS/MMS Marketing
SMS and MMS marketing are very simple concepts that have been at the heart of much mobile marketing that has taken place so far and embraced by some of the biggest brands such as Coca Cola and P&G, who saw the benefits that it provided them as audiences increasingly abandoned traditional media. In typical SMS marketing campaigns users are invited to respond to above and below the line advertising by simply texting a 'keyword' to a shortcode (typically five numerical characters).

Common formats include 'Competitions', 'Text to Screen/TV, voting (think Pop Idol), for surveys, voting, to receive information, multimedia or coupons. These tools can be undertaken to increase brand reach through participation or to generate revenue directly through reverse billed messages. If you run marketing and advertising on TV, in the press, outdoor, via point of sale, or even on the web giving users the opportunity to text in for information or content can be a great way for them to register interest in you.
