The simplest way to think of this is in competition in a simple question format. Users who see the competition question (in the press for instance) are given a multiple choice and invited to text their 'keyword' answer to the shortcode provided. The system which has been set up to respond to that keyword on that shortcode then sends back the relevant response.
They can be set up on reverse charged short codes to generate revenue from the campaign, or free where the exercise is undertaken to interact with customers and extend service. This could be used as a vote, or to send users information or entertainment, rather than to directly monetise the activity. Campaigns can be set up and run as a one-off project, or an ongoing competition, and across different media. It's flexible. We can even run this as a revenue share model. However it's budgeted, we'll provide reporting and support for the logistics and fulfillment where necessary
Surveys
Surveys via mobile are best kept simple. In the sense that they're typically multiple choice and form based they are very similar to application forms on fixed websites used to generate quotations. If you want to know what your customers think of your products or services why not offer them the opportunity to tell you when it's convenient for them to do so simply, efficiently via their mobile. If you need to provide a little incentive for them why not integrate it into a competition format to incentivise participation, or offer to send them information or entertainment?
